About Pagsusuri.com
What’s this?
This is an Examination of Conscience (EOC) guide in preparation for Confession.
Why was this website made?
In our local cathedral for Confession, one of the priests handed out pamphlets as a guide. The limited number of copies meant that we penitents had to share these. There's usually a guide inside the confessional in case you get lost with the flow.
This site was made so that any penitent could examine their conscience from their phones.
How to use this website?
- Go to a quiet place where you can reflect on your past actions, it is best that you're not interrupted during this period.
- Go through each of the question. Take your time. If it's not applicable or you haven't violated the commandment through that fault, skip it. Checked items are the sins you wish to confess to the priest.
- Click on See list for a summary of checked items.
- If you have committed sins that are not on the list, you can write them down or mention them to the priest immediately.
- If you're already familiar with how Confession works (what to do and say), you can simply refer to the list.
- Otherwise, you can continue on with the Confession Guide.
Some reminders
Do not withold any sins, no matter how shameful or humiliating it is.
“…there is no sin that God’s mercy cannot reach and wipe away when it finds a repentant heart seeking to be reconciled...”
—Pope Francis, Apostolic Letter (Misericordia et misera), 2016
Wait. Is this safe?
This website is designed to serverless. Therefore, there is no storage to save your checked items. In fact, you don’t even need an account to use it. To reduce the risk of exposure, the app resets when you refresh the page.
Refreshing a page is as simple as a swipe down (on your phone) or a press of a button (browser).
However, if you choose to take a screenshot or copy the list on another medium—be responsible to dispose of it after Confession.
I don’t want/have access to internet doing this.
The website can also be used offline. You could bookmark this page or “Add to Home Screen” in some browsers (while online).
